Stephen Matthews

Vice President and General Counsel

Stephen Matthews is Vice President and General Counsel for Hunt Refining located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In this capacity, Stephen provides legal counsel and participates in the management and formulation of policy for the Hunt Refining organization. He is also responsible for addressing legal issues affecting the organization and protecting its legal rights. In addition, he provides overview and guidance for the commercial, human resources, security, and environmental functions. Stephen is also Vice President and Secretary of Hunt Southland Refining Company.

Prior to joining Hunt Refining, Stephen was Senior Counsel for Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia and has previously worked for Baker Hughes, ConocoPhillips, Enable Midstream, and Delek US Holdings in various roles.

Stephen graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Political Science and a juris doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Energy Law Journal.
